Going Cruelty-Free and my Favorite Cruelty-Free Brands!

Hi everyone!

So a few weeks ago I was reading Watership Down, a novel written from the point of view of a group of rabbits. It was a really good book, unlike anything I’ve read before, and it made something click in my mind about going cruelty-free.

Ever since I was a little girl I’ve always been a big animal advocate! My mom always taught us to love, respect and be kind to animals. We will stop our car in busy traffic to get the turtles across the road and we always save the little worms that get stuck on the sidewalk. We make sure to buy 100% pasture raised beef, eggs and chicken and we only buy wild-caught Alaskan salmon. I’m against hunting, fur coats, circuses that use animals, confined animal feeding operations and anything that harms and abuses animals. I’m not vegan but I do believe that animals should have a good, happy, healthy life while they’re alive!!

Below I’m going to list my favorite cruelty-free cosmetic brands (that don’t have any 3rd party testing and don’t have a parent company that is not cruelty-free) for anyone who is curious about going cruelty-free! When in doubt, check for the leaping bunny symbol on any packaging or go online and look for lists of cruelty-free products! But here are my top brands (:

  1. Anastasia Beverly Hills (I was pleasantly surprised by this one!)
  2. Wet n Wild
  3. Laura Geller
  4. Physicians Formula
  5. Emite Make Up
  6. Pixi by Petra
  7. BH Cosmetics
  8. e.l.f.
  9. Ecotools
  10. Real Techniques
  11. Beauty Blender (again, pleasantly surprised!)

Since I just started this I still have some brands that are not cruelty-free because I feel guilty just throwing them away but I did give some things away and as I finish the rest I will be replacing them with cruelty-free brands instead. We’ve always gone out of our way to help and defend animals so it only makes sense to stop supporting companies that test on animals! I can’t believe I  never realized that before but thank God it was brought to my attention!

Thank you so much for reading this post and let me know in the comments below what your favorite cruelty-free makeup brand is!

  1. Vivisection is horrible and completely unnecessary. Thank you for bringing it to the attention of beauty girls! Knowledge is power and we absolutely have the power to end this brutality on animals!🐰
